Mrs. Sassano earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech Pathology from The Pennsylvania State University. She earned her ESL Program Specialist Certificate through IU8.

Mrs. Sassano also holds certification in Reading Specialist K-12 and English 7-12. She has been teaching English as a Second Language in the Altoona Area School District since the 2001-2002 school year.

Mrs. Sassano is married and has one daughter and one son. She enjoys editing family digital video and photographs and gardening in her spare time.
