Elementary Program

The elementary program (K-6) provides classroom instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, library media skills, informational technology, fine arts, health, safety and physical education.

Pennsylvania's Academic Standards are emphasized and aligned with reading, language arts and math instruction.

Grade level technology standards are demonstrated by students as they complete interdisciplinary projects each semester.

Efforts are made to meet individual needs through the integration of technology throughout the curriculum and engagement of students in the learning process.

A new Houghton-Mifflin math program has been implemented, allowing students online access to resources from home.

Kid Writing gets children writing on the first day of kindergarten. Teachers create a joyful, risk-free environment with high levels of challenge and support.

Specialists and classroom teachers provide instruction in choral and instrumental music, art and physical education. Reading and math specialists, speech clinicians and counselors work with individual students and / or small groups.

There are 29 full-day kindergarten sessions being offered district-wide. Summer Awesome Beginnings Camps prepare these students for a successful start in the fall.
