How to re-install Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking
Q: What is Dial-Up Networking?
A: Dial-Up Networking is the software included with Windows 95 that allows your computer to access your modem, tell your modem to dial into an Internet Service Provider such as us, and successfully authenticate you as a valid user on our system, and connect you into our system. Please note that Dial-Up-Networking is a component of Windows 95, NOT Netscape. Netscape comes into effect only AFTER you have successfully authenticated and connected into our system via your modem. Netscape is the software that allows you to 'browse the web' (look at internet web pages), and to access your email. These are two totally separate items. Dial-Up Networking dials your modem and connects to us, and Netscape allows you to view items on The Internet. It almost appears as though Dial-Up Networking is part of Netscape, because Netscape will automatically install it for you (with the help of your Win 95 cd rom), and configure a dial-up 'profile' for you.
Q: When do I need to re-install Dial-Up Networking?
A: If your are getting errors regarding Dial-Up Networking, or are just unable to connect, then you may want to try to reinstall Dial-Up Networking. Please note: you will need your Windows 95 cd rom to successfully complete the re-installation of Dial-Up Networking.
