Professional Bio:
Prior to working in the Altoona Area School District (AASD), I taught in Northern Virginia (Woodbridge) for six years. Then, upon relocating back to Pennsylvania, I began / have worked in AASD for the past ten plus years. During my first nine years in AASD, I served as a Special Education Teacher at both the Altoona Area High School and Altoona Area Junior High School. In 2019, after finishing my graduate coursework, I accepted a position as a Special Education Supervisor.
As a Special Education Supervisor, I oversee teachers and related service providers who provide support for elementary students in need of special education services. Additionally, I provide guidance on academic / behavioral interventions to be implemented based on individual student needs. Lastly, I ensure all special education paperwork is in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Personal Bio:
I enjoy spending time with my family (wife and four daughters); whether that be at the gym for volleyball or at a dance competition. I also enjoy watching sports such as: basketball (University of North Carolina), football (Steelers), hockey (Penguins), baseball (Yankees) as well as taking in an Altoona Curve game or two.
