The AASD PreK-12 Student Art Exhibition features student artwork from grades PreK to 12 created during the 2024-2025 school year.

on May 14th the annual art show took place in the science comments giving students a chance to Showcase their art to the public art teacher Mrs Curry elaborated on the event school tonight is our districtwide art show which means prek um through 12th grade student artwork is being shown so all of the teach art teachers throughout the district um are displaying on boards and on walls and hanging um from balconies wherever whatever spaces we can fill we're filling with artwork to display what we've done this school year with our students um we'll probably have many hundreds of people walking through tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and we're just excited to get the word out about the the support that we have within the Arts in Alton area school district during the show students enrolled in APR shared what it meant to them to have their art displayed it's been a lot of fun and I hope that a lot of people get to see my where I can see what it means to me yeah it's like I don't know it's um being in the art show it's just a nice way to get like your work out to people so you can kind of show off all the work you've done over the years so it's really like gratifying to see everybody so interested in your stuff and all the work you've done so it just feels good to have people admire the things you've worked on it's really great to be displayed in our show because we've been working on our all year and this is time to finally display what we have been doing all year and get some appreciation and thoughts from the public and just be really proud of what we've made so far hundreds of pieces of art were being showcased from all around the District art teacher Mrs Janeiro shared how she felt seeing her students are being displayed have are showing um their AP artwork each of them have their own tables they are showing artwork from the beginning of your show now so the progression throughout the entire year is tremendous and they're able to show everything from their sketchbooks and preliminary artwork the whole way to their finished pieces um I think my favorite part is seeing them interact with the um audience here and being asked questions and they're able to really connect and explain what they're working on and explain their big ideas that they've done all
