The High School Equivalency exams measure achievement in social studies, science, language arts and mathematics at the high school proficiency level. Free classroom instruction and free materials are available to persons who wish to prepare for the High School Equivalency exams.
 
 
The Pennsylvania Department of Education has approved two options for the
High School Equivalency Testing

*Important to note: test-takers may select either GED or HiSet and pass a combined group of the tests from both companies to achieve the HSE diploma. 
This is a new change in Pennsylvania.

In an effort to enhance services for individuals who receive the Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma, the Pennsylvania Department of Education is transferring all of its diploma and transcript processing services to DiplomaSender.

​Effective October, 1, 2016, all Pennsylvania high school equivalency diplomas and transcripts for the GED test, HiSET exam, as well as those awarded through the 30 College Credit Option, will be handled by DiplomaSender. To request a copy of a transcript, diploma, or letter of verification of high school equivalency, visit
