PSU men's hockey donates stuffed animals

Since 2013 the Penn State University Men’s Hockey team has hosted an annual Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Thon, pediatric cancer patients and local children organizations. This year the Teddy Bear Toss was held on December 10, 2022 at the PSU vs. Ohio State game.

Fans were encouraged to bring new or lightly used teddy bears or stuffed animals.  More than 1,800 animals of all shapes, colors and sizes were thrown to the ice during intermission.

AASD was a recipient of 500 stuffed animals to be shared with Altoona students.  Dana Crouse, Director of Marketing & Fan Experience for PSU Men’s Hockey along with her colleagues Lizzie Farrell, Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience Men’s Hockey, David Weston, Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience, Men’s Basketball, Danielle Ryan, Director of Marketing & Fan Experience  for Women’s Basketball and John Hanna, Associate Director of Strategic Communications, Men’s Hockey.

Bears and stuffed animals were distributed to the Learning Express Preschool and all of the AASD elementary schools.
