Voices of Altoona Concert scheduled for November 16

The High School and Junior High School will be represented by the Altoona Area High School Vocal Ensemble and the Altoona Area Junior High Vocal Ensemble respectively. All eight Altoona Area School District elementary schools will be represented by fourth and fifth grade members of the All City Chorus.

 

The evening will begin with a performance by the AAHS Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Kelly

Sipes. This select group will be singing three selections including “My Girl” and “Sweet Caroline”. The AAJHS Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Jessica Connell, will perform three pieces including “September” and “Lovely Day”. Kristin delGiudice and Shannen Billie will direct the elementary All City Chorus as students sing a variety of crowd-pleasing selections including: “Kusimama” by Jim Papoulis and “We Go Together” from the Broadway Musical, Grease, among other traditional and popular favorites. All 100 plus singers will combine for an exciting medley of big band standards in the piece, “It Don’t Mean A Thing if it Ain’t Got that Sing, Sing, Sing.”

 

Tickets are $3 and will be sold at the door beginning at 6 p.m. Children five years of age and younger will be admitted free.
