Flexible Instruction Day Considerations

Decisions regarding school delays, school closures or Flexible Instruction Days are based upon the best weather information available at the time.  If it is certain that potentially dangerous weather or situations will occur,  the decision to delay and/or cancel school will be made the night before so that parents have the opportunity to arrange for childcare services for the next day.

If a significant weather event or school closure is pending, parents will be notified by noon the day prior that there is the potential of a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) on the following school day.  Online instruction and assignments will be available for all students K-12 with technology sent home the day prior to the FID.  A final decision to use a FID will be determined by 6:00 PM the evening prior to the FID. The FID will count as a normal school day and will not need made up later in the year.  If for any reason you require to have off-line work for your child/children, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.  If you're requesting off-line work, your child's attendance for the day will be determined by his/her completion of work assigned submitted the following day.

Any questions regarding FIDs should be directed to the classroom teacher or principal.
