Elementary music teacher Mrs. Jamie Hillard recently introduced her Kindergarten students at McAuliffe Heights Program, Juniata and Juniata Gap to their “virtual music class pet” for this year.

The Last Full Measure

A newly created book of an important chapter in both Altoona and world history is now available for purchase. The final product of a school project, the 700-page book includes the stories of those from Altoona who died during their service in World War II.

Mountain Lion BackPack Program

The Mountain Lion BackPack Program is available to all Altoona elementary students (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) who may benefit from supplemental food over the weekends. Mountain Lion BackPacks work hard to help those children and families in need of supplemental food over the weekends. No personal or financial information is required to enroll in the program and receive this food. The attached letter provides updated information for this year's enrollment.

Altoona Cyber Academy

At the Altoona Cyber Academy, K-12 students are provided with an online curriculum facilitated by Altoona Cyber Academy teachers. Students will have a defined curriculum with flexible instructional hours based on their needs. It allows kids to have flexibility with their work and gives them another option other than the traditional brick and mortar school.
