AAHS senior Owen Hoover was recognized for his accomplishment as a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Student athletes from Altoona Area High School and Altoona Area Junior High School who wish to play winter interscholastic sports are required to report for physicals which are scheduled in November.

FEMA will conduct a test of the Wireless Emergency Alerts and Emergency Alert System on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at approximately 2:20 p.m. A test message will be sent to all TVs, radios and cell phones.

Join the AASD Administration for a four night series surrounding topics relevant to our students and community. Each session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and be approximately one hour long. Enter through the AAHS main entrance at 1404 6th Ave. to report to the Drama Commons. There will be approximately 30 minutes of presentation and 30 minutes of discussion surrounding the designated topic.

Caleb Marasco loves to write and sing. He regularly shares his music on TikTok and can be heard playing at the Buccinese Society. Earlier this summer, he and his friend, Mason McGinnis, were slated to play at the Logan Jr. High School reunion where they were asked by McGinnis’ father, Terry , to develop a song for a poem he had written for his classmates. From there Marasco and McGinnis worked on rearranging words and phrases to fit the melody they created for the song which they debuted at the Logan Wildcats reunion.
