Pre Employment Requirements

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS:

All applicants seeking employment should submit their application materials online for review by the administration. Application materials should be updated regularly and uploaded accordingly. If there is a vacancy, application materials will be reviewed and screened by the appropriate Administrative team members and applicants will be selected for interviewing. 

Once applicants are selected, the District will initiate a comprehensive and competitive interviewing process. Depending on the position, up to three (3) interviews may be conducted before selecting a candidate to recommend to the Altoona Area School District Board of Directors for employment.
 

Current AASD Employees:

Please upload a letter of interest using the Skyward Business Employee Access Tab. If you have received a letter notification that your clearances are due to be updated, refer to the above documents for instructions. 
 

NON-DISTRICT EMPLOYEES

Please attach college transcripts, PA Department of Education certification, current clearances**, and three (3) letters of recommendation to your application.
 

Clearance Information

All applicants must complete the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release for their current employer AND must also complete one disclosure for each of the applicant's former employers that were school entities or where the applicant was employed in a position having direct contact with children. (Therefore, the applicant may have to complete more than one disclosure form.)

  • PDE-353A Standard Application for Teaching Positions in PA
  • A copy of your PA Teaching Certificate
  • Official transcripts in a SEALED envelope from your college/university
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
