McAuliffe Heights Library

The main goal in the library is to foster a love of reading! Studies have shown that children who read at least 20 minutes a day do better in school. So pick up a book and dive into an adventure! Your child will have library book exchange, so please look at your child's schedule and be sure they have their library books on that day.

Your child will see the librarian for Library Instruction. Some of the library/research skills that Mrs. Roberts will be working on with your child this year are (grade level skills vary): Care of Library Materials, Selecting Appropriate Reading Material, Creating an Interest in Reading, how to search for books using the Card Catalog, Recognizing Fiction and Nonfiction Materials, Using Reference Books, Identifying Parts of a Book, Identifying Different Genres, Bibliographies, the Dewey Decimal System, and Internet Safety.
