Students in the Eagle TV club at McAuliffe Heights Program visited the AAHS Mt. Lion Television studio to learn more about the production process, editing, shooting video, story building and experience what they could possibly look forward to as they grow older.

hi my name is Doug Sipes and I'm the director of Mt. Lion Television here at the Altoona Area High School today we had the Eagle TV students from McAuliffe Heights at Irving Elementary come to the high school and participate in a great day filled with editing and shooting video and storyboarding so they can experience what it's like to move on into the field as they get older. I'm Mrs. Brandy Agnew, the principal at McAuliffe Heights Elementary today we have our Eagle TV, it is a fairly new club we just started last school year. Miss Wineland, our librarian and Mrs. Sackandy, our gifted teacher run this club.  I'm very impressed because to be able to have the confidence and the ability to think of these creative ideas, to write these skits and to interview each other is pretty amazing. The students were super excited about it. They've been waiting for today to come over and learn all about Mt. Lion TV.  I love to see the interactions.  Any time you have some type of vertical collaboration between students, the high school kids and the elementary kids,  the elementary kids look up to the high school kids and it shows them if you do keep sticking with it and being involved in these types of clubs because this is what they could possibly do.  In elementary we use iPads we use you know wireless mics and it's very very elementary like and then they're coming here and see what they could do here it's pretty amazing I mean with such complex software and resources so that's really interesting.  I want to think I'm Mr. Sipes and all the students for  inviting us to come over here, Mr. Neely of course being okay with that and Mrs. Fleegle as well.  It's great to see this collaboration and I hope that we can continue to do so.
