AAHS sophomore's Aiden Aiken, Sydney Wilber and Parker Huey-Kish produced a public service announcement as part of Donate Life Pennsylvania statewide competition. Students were challenged to create a public service announcement video to help increase organ donor awareness.

Did you know that there are 100,000 people waiting for an organ transplant and around 17 people die each day waiting for one? Let's learn about the different types of organ donation. Living donation is when a living person donates an organ or part of an organ for transplantation.  Deceased donation is when you're able to transmit organs after brain death is confirmed.  VCA donation is when you translate multiple tissue types including skin bones and blood vessels and pediatric donation is when very small children most often receive donations from other young people in order to live. Becoming an organ donor can boost the number of lives that can be saved within a community. Did you know that you can potentially save up to eight lives when you register to become an organ donor It starts with you.  Be the change to help others when you visit any photo license center in PA to have the organ donor designation printed onto the card if you were interested in becoming an organ donor you can register online at dmv.pa.gov. A myth many people think of is will be charged if I donate my organs?  This is false, you never ever have to pay to give the gift of Life Another myth about donation is I am too sick or too old to donate. This is also false. Very few conditions prevent someone from being able donate and you can never be too old to donate to donate your organs.
